Basics of Operation
  1. The SM100 field odour measurement draws a sample of ambient air via venture vacuum pump and dilutes it using fresh odourless air from a high pressure compressed air tank.
  2. Operator uses an adjustable sliding valve to control the ratio of fresh to ambient air.
  3. The mixed air is sent to through a flexible hose to a disposable face mask.
  4. Operator slowly increases concentration of the mix until the odour of ambient air is detected.

Basics of Operation

The SM100i , Intelligent Personal Olfactometer draws the sample  via eductor (venturi pump) and dilutes it using fresh odour less air from a compressed air tank. A micro-controller adjusts the dilution ratio and interacts with the panelist though a touch screen tablet to conduct YES/NO test mode and automatically calculates the odour concentration. The results can be viewed on google earth or exported as an excel file for further analysis.

Basics of Operation

Deployment simply requires connecting the power cord to a standard 120/240 VAC outlet and connecting the pneumatic hose between the air supply sub-system and the Control Sub-system. The air sub-system provides clean air regardless of ambient air through its incorporated oil-free pump, HEPA Filter, carbon filter, no-maintenance membrane air dryer, and regulator.

Capabilities

Basics of Operation
  • Connect odour sample bag to the SS400 Six Station Portable Olfactometer
  • Using the Admin tablet start a new test
  • Scan the unique barcode on the sample
  • Select the number of panelist (1-6) and the test type (Yes/No, Binary, or Hedonic Tone)
  • System will conduct purging and assessment automatically
  • Panelist will be instructed to sniff and input their reponse using their dedicated tablets
  • System will log and send all results wirelessly to Scentroid’s Laboratory management software
